"Valerie's book needs a warning lable. Do not read while consuming liquids lest they spew out your nose in laughter. I will admit that I find most books of humor to be rather dry reading; the authors tend to either make a topic so short you wonder "was that the joke?" or they ramble on so long you need to re-trim your toenails after each chapter. Not Valerie. Valerie has found the right format. She manages to engage your attention in the first sentence or two, takes you on a ride and then wraps things up in a nice package. This is a great book for commuters too; the topics are just the right length that you can read and not feel your having to stop in the middle of an epic moment like with standard novels but also long enough to keep you entertained while the bus/train/trolly goes from stop to stop. Her topics have a wide range that there is something for everyone to find funny. My teen daughters even were in line to read the book when I was done! "

I loved this book!! I read it aloud in my dorm to some buddies of mine and couldn't stop laughing. I like that it's all chopped up into totally different articles about the same thing.. life IS completely, totally, no doubt ridiculous. Even if you only have five spare minutes in your day you can still sit down to a solid story that you'll relate to and will keep you giggling for a good couple hours. As a college student, it's very refreshing to read something this down to earth and to the point. Valerie Fausone is my hero!

This collection of humorous essays by Valerie Fausone is a nice refreshing summer read. She's at her funniest and most relevant when she muses about family life: stepparenting, children who are fussy eaters, and the cycle of clutter. I laughed out loud several times, because I knew *exactly* the kinds of situations she was talking about. I'm surprised she hasn't been picked up as a syndicated newspaper columnist.
